Take a look at some of the testimonials I’ve received from my recent workshop students

Karen

“My pottery journey over the last 3 years with Clare has been awesome. Clare is a fantastic teacher with a wicked sense of humour - a vast set of skills and a deep connection to clay.

Clare makes the tricky bits fun, with pottery there's always unexpected challenges that come up from messing up on the wheel - to trimming too much off pots - to glaze disasters. She always makes time to help the class understand and if possible show the class a fix.

Clare is super generous with sharing her time, knowledge and tools. I have learnt there is so much that goes into making a pottery piece!!

There are always some cool people in Clare's classes, and it's great to see what they are up to too and share ideas and the mud fun. Clay, music, kombucha and/or wine evenings are also super fun! My whole family have enjoyed Clare's classes. We have made sauerkraut crocks, plates, bowls, cups, tiles, citrus juicers, xmas ornaments, egg cups, buttons, angels, houses.”

I have absolutely loved my time learning and working with Clare over the last two years. Clare is warm and welcoming and loves to share her pottery and skills with others. She keeps her classes fun and lively, and has a wealth of knowledge to share.

Clare has a very hands on approach to teaching pottery and provides ongoing feedback and guidance during classes. She spends time with each participant one on one and provides specific and individualised feedback (I found this extremely helpful). One thing I love about Clare’s classes is it encourages you to be creative and isn‘t restricted to just making mugs, plates, and bowls. I enjoyed looking around each class to see what new creative projects others were making.

I highly recommend Clare to anyone who is interested in learning pottery or wanting to improve and refine their skills. Clare is inspiring to watch on the wheel and I am always amazed at what she can create from clay. I am incredibly grateful for my time with her and cherish our studio moments! She’s become more than just my pottery mentor and is now a close friend of mine!

A pottery class with Clare is well worth it.“

What I would like to mostly say about my experience and learning from Clare, is you will instantly feel at “home” with her, and for that, I will always be grateful 🙏🏾

From the moment I walked through the doors of her studio in Waitetuna, it took me back to almost 3 decades ago, when I was a 15 year old living in Coromandel Township and had the opportunity to have Barry Brickell pop me on a pottery wheel and show me what impact having clay on your hands, can bring out in you… a memory I carried till I was lucky enough to experience that with Clare…

She has guided and supported me on a journey that has definitely “centered” me, and given me the confidence to set up my own at home studio, so that I can keep creating and hopefully share my passion with others in the future…

Pot with Clare… you won’t regret it ☺️”

“Wow, what an incredible experience! As a complete novice to pottery, I was a little apprehensive, but there was no reason to worry. Clare made me feel completely at home, and with her expert guidance, I could throw a plant pot worth keeping. The studio was a lovely place to work. The atmosphere and the other students all combined to make it a truly lovely day.”
